Online psychological therapy for adults.
You don’t have to be in crisis to start therapy. You may function perfectly well on the outside, as you always have, but now feel differently on the inside.
You might feel anxious, overwhelmed, tired, or more dissatisfied with parts of your life. Maybe you can’t stop thinking about work, or you’re always overthinking. A relationship could be struggling or ending. You might feel less confident or unsure about your future and where it’s heading. Even if you’re successful, you may wonder if you want to keep going as you are or know you need a change. Sometimes, something you’ve managed or ignored for years becomes too hard to live with.
People come to me for many different reasons, including:
Sometimes there isn’t an obvious label for what you’re experiencing. You know that the way you’re living doesn’t feel sustainable or satisfying anymore.
That’s enough to begin.
I’m a Chartered Counselling Psychologist and psychotherapist and have worked therapeutically with adults for nearly twenty years.
My approach is integrative, which means I don’t try to fit every person or problem into one particular therapy model. My training includes Existential, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural therapy. In our sessions, I might use practical tools to help you challenge anxious thoughts, while also drawing on longer-term approaches to explore underlying patterns or deeper emotional themes. This means therapy is tailored to you and your needs. We’ll think together about what is happening, why it may be happening and what might help.
I don’t see therapy as endless analysis of the past. While we’ll focus on what is happening in your life now, we may talk about earlier experiences if they help us understand current patterns or feelings. Exploring relevant parts of your history can provide context to help you move forward.
We might explore together what, or whom, you are tolerating, what frightens you about changing, what circumstances genuinely need addressing, and whether they are caused by repeating patterns of behaviour or thought processes that keep you trapped.
The aim isn’t just to understand yourself better. It’s to help you use that understanding to make real changes in your life.
I’m especially interested in the psychological changes that can happen during midlife, between ages 40 and 65.
Sometimes people come to therapy thinking they have developed anxiety, lost motivation or energy, or feel dissatisfied for no clear reason. These feelings can also come up during big life changes or losses.
Changes at work, in relationships, family roles, ageing, menopause, caring for others, children leaving home, divorce, job loss, or nearing retirement can all make us question who we are and how we want to live.
Therapy gives you a place to explore these questions, without assuming everything in your life needs to change.
I offer online sessions only, and each 60-minute session costs £150. If you’d like to book a session or talk about how we could work together, please email me or use the contact form. I’ll get back to you quickly to set up an initial session or answer any questions. I look forward to working with you.
